Before you begin
Christian history is not a tidy family tree. Churches sometimes separated, sometimes developed in parallel, and sometimes rediscovered one another after centuries apart. This trail follows a few major landmarks without pretending that one route tells every local story.
At each landmark, notice three things: what Christians carried forward, what changed, and which tempting shortcut would make the story less accurate.
