60-second overview
A centralized Philippine-origin church teaching that the Father alone is the one true God, that Jesus is the human Son of God and Savior but not God, and that membership in the restored church is necessary to salvation.
History and identity
Iglesia ni Cristo rejects the Trinity and the doctrine that Christ is both God and man. It identifies its modern restoration with Felix Y. Manalo and has a strong centralized administration, organized worship, evangelism, and institutional unity. Because the English name translates as “Church of Christ,” it is easily confused with unrelated Restoration Movement churches.
